Please Help - MC FPS stutter

Go to solution Solved by Oberfail,

Try using OpenJ9 Java instead of Oracle Java, it has a way better garbage collector.

Also make sure, that you choose the updated version in the Launcher.

https://adoptopenjdk.net/?variant=openjdk8&jvmVariant=openj9

Also try disabling SLI since its known to have stutter issues.

I am so desperate for a solution at this point. I have tried everything, but Minecraft recently started stuttering at memory dumps out of no where. It has been working fine until recently and I don't know what to do. This issue is linked to memory dumping somehow - I know this because I only get the frame dips whenever the memory rolls back from 40% to 8%.

Things I have tried:

- Resetting PC (wiping the drive completely)

- Uninstalling and Installing Optifine

- Increasing an lowering RAM

- Increasing and Decreasing render distance

- Increase and decreasing video settings

- Updating NVIDIA drivers

- Uninstalling Game

- Uninstalling/reinstalling Java

-Increasing and Decreasing minimum RAM

- Turned off VBO's

- Vsync is off

My Specs:

Intel i7-7820x

128GB of DDR4 3200 Mhz RAM

1 TB SSD

1080ti in SLI

Water cooled

1200W Platinum PSU

I'm hoping one of y'all out there can help me.

presuming you are running the java version.. how much memory is actually allocated in java? allocating too much will cause HUGE memory dumps ==> huge stutters

2GB, I had been on 2GB with no issues and then suddenly, I got massive stutters out of nowhere
