I've got a ram compatibility question

I'm building a new PC with a Crosshair VII Hero and 3900x and was planning on getting this kit of Corsair ram but the QVL for my motherboard doesn't list it as supported. I noticed it uses the same SK Hynix chips as this G.Skill ram and even the same speed and timings. Would that mean they have the same compatibility? If anyone else is using the Corsair ram let me know if it's working so I can quit worrying.

TLDR.

 

QVL listing is just memory that has been verified to work, they did not test every single kit on the market with every single motherboard. And DRAM compatibly is no longer an issue like it was with 1st gen Ryzen, so this does not matter. 

 

While that kit would work I would go for a CL16 kit, unfortunately Corsair does not have a 3600MHz CL16 kit in 32GB, so either go for a 3200Mhz kit (I have the exact memory kit and motherboard, and I was able to OC my memory to 3466MHz and tighten up timings), Or buy form a different brand.

Apparently Ryzen isn't as picky as it used to be, but I still wouldn't risk it. When I tried Ryzen 1st gen, I went through 3 sets of RAM, none of which worked, before abandoning the platform entirely for Intel.

It was an issue with 1st gen, no longer, Bios updates have come a long way with improving stability. I can put any memory kit in my system now without issues. For a while I was using my Corsair Vengeance LED kit that I had bought during the skylake days, It did not work at first but after a year of updates it was fine. 

 

But yeah early adoption of Ryzen was not good for system stability, I too got tired of the issues and built an 8700k system while I waited for Ryzen stability to improve, by the time 2nd gen launched it was mostly fixed, and since I got my  Asus X470 ROG Crosshair VII Hero stability has been solid as a rock. That and my Ryzen ITX system have no issues.
