So you guys probably answer question like these all the time but. I'm paying for 1 gig interent and hitting speeds of 30 mbps download and 2.5 up. I'm using the modem router cobo thing but that shouldn't be a problem since there is like 1 wall, printer and 10 feet between me and it. I'm using DSL. Just to check I got almost the same results over ethernet too. So what's the problem? Also while i'm here i'm going to upgrade my computer soon and the motherboard will supports 2.5 gig and 1 gig so does that mean that my router and isp are supposed have 2.5 gig support or 3.5 gig support. Another question if your motherboard has 2.5 and 1gig ports if you plug in both you will get 3.5 gig speeds right?

That's not how this work.

 

If the ISP provides 1GB you won't get 3.5GB.
