Cpu Fan Woes.. advice needed from a ....fanboy?

so I have a coolermaster hyper 212 on a ryzen 7 3200x

I Just ordered another 16gig of ram but I've noticed (after the fact.. stupid I know) that there won't be enough clearance with this fan where it is..

If I just put it to the other side of the cooler it will then be blowing the wrong way right?

So what do I do? Order another fan... if so I may go rgb because the computer is going to sit on my desk so I kind of like the idea of it looking pretty.
Can I just take the brackets off the side of the fan and put them on any 120mm fan?

also...

My motherboard has rgb light headers but because it's a cpu fan will the new fan have two wires? one going to the cpu fan header and one to the rgb for control or what?

Haven't built a system in 10 years and advice would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

I assume the fan is currently blowing the air through the cooler? If so, can you not just take it off, and put it on the other side , so it pulls air through the cooler? I haven't seen a Hyper 212 for a long time, so I can't remember if it has mounting on both sides of it for fans.

Yeah it does as its just groves in the side of the metal it clips onto .. that's what i'll do then i guess and see what happens i just thought it was sucking air through.. cant find an arrow on the fan either 🤔

You want it to go in the same direction as it currently is, so you just need to make sure that the right hand part of the fan, stays on the right hand side when you attach it to the other side of the heatsink.

You can place it on either side, blowing either way, but blowing towards the rear is always recommended. I think every fan I've ever owned blows towards the mount side of the fan blade. So the part that has the hub is the suction.

You can always turn the fan on to test flow. Also you can tell by the fan blade geometry.

So for example, this would be the suction side of the fan.

You can mount the fan in pull instead of push or raise the fan slightly if the case has enough clearance.

Which Hyper 212 are you using?

This applies to your case but also in general, the side with the frame is the exhaust and the side with the hub is the intake.

You need to unscrew the clips from fan as just mounting with the brackets would make fan to blow into wrong direction.
