RAM issue

Hello all,

 

my Asus ROG Strix B450 F does not post when ECC RAM is installed.

I tried to use this RAM:

16GB (1x 16384MB) Kingston KSM26ED8/16ME DDR4-2666 ECC DIMM CL19-19-19 Single

 

The System doesn't start using 4 or 2 of these modules. I can't even get into BIOS.

 

As far as I know this is unbuffered ECC. This should be working with this board?

in theory it should, in practice the board is not verified for ECC so there could be quirks.

Desktop benching:

Cinebench R15 Single thread:168 Multi-thread: 833 

SuperPi (v1.5 from Techpowerup, PI value output) 16K: 0.100s 1M: 8.255s 32M: 7m 45.93s

origionally I posted this in the "320 TB in a normal case" thread.

 

Linus suggested to use exactly this board and mentioned that it would support ECC.

I'm using almost the same CPU type as well: Ryzen 5 2600X instead of 2600.

 

Not sure about the RAM type though ...
