Im not getting the speeds i should.

Hi, when i do a test for internet speeds on any speed test, i get about 60 to 90 Mbps down. Although when i try and download anything my max speed is 10 Mbps(oddly enough it is maxed at 10). I fully understand i will not get full speeds. I do not understand how i am only getting 1/6th of my internet speeds its showing. (i am wired on PC and PS4). Also, when i download anything from pc or ps4, it severely slows down all other devices. 

 

Also, i am super dumb when it comes to computers or internet stuff. So using certain lingo should be cautionary. 

 

Edit: i do not have my steam max download at 10. its uncapped.

8Mbps = 1MB/s, math works.

Speedtest.net reports speeds in Mb, which stands for Megabit. Steam reports speeds in MB, which stands for Megabyte.
1 byte consists of 8 bits, so 1MB = 8Mb, or in your case it's 9.6MB = 77Mb.

The speeds you're getting in Steam are still a bit lower than what you see in Speedtest (because your ISP can prioritize that traffic), but it's close enough.

 

The speeds are correct, it's just a different way of representing the numbers.

 

(It's like one person saying "I have 100 pennies!" and another person saying "I have 1 dollar!". They are saying the same, using different units).
