Trouble with port forwarding.

It also does not work when I type in 192.168.1.100 to start ip adress and 192.168.1.200 to end ip adress. what should I do in order for it to work? I am going to open a minecraft server to play with friends.

personally never seen a router make you specify a range like that. What is the model of your router ?

That makes no sense, the router does not need you to specify the WAN IP Address, its job is to handle that for you.

well, whats the issue? is your server crashing? do you have the right one in your minecraft server properties? i recently setup a linux minecraft server. the idea behind port forwarding is you have a single unchanging static ip for others to connect to then they connect to your pc's possibly changing ip.

 

Ip in server properties: your tunnel ip.

start: the static ip

end: your pc's ip.

 

I use windscribe portforwarding so for me thats

server properties: tun0 ip (vhanges occasionally)

start: static ip (what others need to type to join your server) i assume you set a static ip?

end: my pc's ip adress

 

a warning: hosting pc cannot connect to the server or itll mess up. 

 

your tunnel ip is not your static. if youre not using a 3rd party port forward, likely no tunnel, also the ipv4 ip in connection info is the "your pc's ip" one.

so try

 

server properties: pc's ip

start: static

end: pc's ip

Nope, that would be Dynamic DNS. Port forwarding is to allow the computer to determine incoming packets destined for a specific use, allow them through a firewall and FORWARD the packets on to the correct machine on the network.

Where did the tunnel come from? This means you created a tunnel in Linux which doesn't help the OP at all unless your ISP is using tunneling to provide the service to you (which still doesn't help OP)?

did you miss the second half of my post twords the bottom? he didnt say if he used a router static ip adress, or a 3rd party, so i included both incase.the tunnel ip is only cause 3rd party static ip im using.

 

the part where i said "so try" is what the op needs to try.

Never seen that before.

I suppose your IP twice your running the server from. Always can try.

Maybe if that doesn't work, try your IPV4 address and public IP.

Ipv4 address as 192.168.1.109?

DON'T TELL ANYONE! Except people you trust.

 

start menu, cmd, type "ipconfig"

Then you'll see you're IPV4 address and public or go ipchicken for you're public.

The port forwarding like I said try both start and end with you're IPV4 address if it doesn't work do start with yoru IPV4 then end with public.

However the first should work fine. I have a MCserver too and use IPV4. Public for out of network people as they need that to connect either way through direct connect to the server.

 

The command prompt I mentioned is just to see IPV4

Wait...is virtual server you're port forwarding area?

on my router virtual server is something different.

Do have just a port forwarding tab.

If you're not playing on LAN try leaving it blank.

IPV4 only as well. Thats how mine runs

I couldnt see any port forward options. Is it because this is a wireless modem?

No, cause mine is too. I'm hard wired now but before it was wireless modem/router.

You should be on network settings>NAT>port forwarding and use you IPV4

Leave Translation ports blanks.

my router is not in the list... Its model is b535-232
