One of my friends is planning to build a new system . He is looking to spend about 60,000 on the build . He has decided on a ryzen 3600 and 1660 super combo. He is planning to use this for moderate gaming and some light content creation and 3D stuff . Would this combo of GPU and CPU be sufficient for this budget ? (cost of 3600 is around 16,000 and of 1660 super is around 20,000)

Also what kind of FPS would he be expecting at 1080p ultra settings ? What about 1440p? Which resolution makes most sense?

60k indian is 780 dollars, so

with the parts you mentioned, this  was as cheap as i could cut it. i think you may need to downgrade a little.

stuff is cool. stuff that has fancy lighting is cooler. stuff that has fancy lighting and works is the coolest.

i game so i know a bit abt gaming tech, not much abt professional tech.

writing this as i finish a 3 hour D2 sesh so excuse anything wrong.

Thanks for the reply. He said that he could get a deal in 60,000. His main concern is whether the CPU - GPU combo is decent enough to get some good performance?

1440p at medium settings depending on game 1080p all high is easy for the gpu

no?

my rtx 2060 (which is about 1070) cant handle a higher than 60fps max settings 1080p.

med-high i would say 60fps. 1440, med.

Idk I’ve watched many benchmarks and lists of performance and it’s achieved ultra high settings 1080p if paired with a good cpu

I have also seen quite benchmarks showing it is capable of 100+ fps in 1080p.

okay. userbenchmark says it can get 86 fps max 1080 on GTA v, 238 on cs, sub 100 on OW,  and  around that much on the newer battle royale games.

none of these are really graphically intensive other than GTA

also i checked my own gpu against the 1660s, the 2060 has slightly higher rates.

it should do pretty great at 1080p, and yeah. mid-high is what i usually play with on 1080p for those smooth 60fps games.

a 1660s will do just fine for 1080p
