GPU upgrade from 380X

c_marriott

Any recommendations for sub £200?

At least 6GB is preferred, would also prefer having 2 HDMI ports if possible but not necessary. Smaller width would also be better due to having a smaller case but can make whatever fit, just want the best all round card.

Considering the 580/590/5500xt
Or on the green team 1060/1660?

Haven't kept up much with the newest generations so a bit lost here

Ignore the build below its my old one -

New build is r5 2600, 12GB RAM

CPU: FX-6300 GPU: Sapphire R9 380X MOBO: Gigabyte 970A-DS3P RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB PSU: XFX XTR 550W CASE: Zalman Z11 Plus SSD: Samsung 840 Evo

17 years old, PC Enthusiast for 3. Be gentle with me, I'm only young.

A 5500xt would be a nice upgrade and so would both of the Nvidia cards

i personally would go for the 1660/s/ti but find a good price on a 5500xt would also be good.

Is the 1660 worth the price difference over the 1060?

The Super variant absolutely decimates the 1060.

Just saw that link, looks pretty good. Is a bit more expensive than I'd want to pay but will definitely look into it more

Honestly a 5600xt might fit your needs well if you get a good price

Might look out for a refurbished model to save a few quid, brand new 5600 is a bit much for me

Can always spend the extra $20 now and then sell your old card and make the extra back.

The 5600-XT is like 70+ over his budget.

The £200 is already considering selling my other card unfortunately, stretching the budget as is

I don't need anything overkill, I'm trying to run Warzone at the moment and there's a slight struggle/ Just want something reliable

Rx 590 is the best you will do then on your budget which is still a good 1080p card.

Is it worth spending the extra on a 5500xt/1660 though? The 5600xt is a bit out there but used might be an option

Not really. The 590 cleanly bests the 1060 & the 1660 is not much better than the 1060. The gain you get from a 1660 is lower power draw. But the 590 will cost less to buy.

5500-XT is not worth buying at all.
