Hi, I set up FaH last night without any issues, however I've noticed that only my CPU is being used. I've tried manually adding my GTX 1060 via FaH's Slot settings, however it's not detecting it at all. I've set the FaH exe to use the dedicated GPU under the Nvidia control panel too.

Can anyone help?

Cheers

try downloading the installer again from the F@H website and install/update your client. They had a problem in the last couple days where the versions of the client weren't recognizing graphics cards. Make sure once you do that you again try adding via slot settings and everything. If not come back and let us know.

I just did a reformat and I'm running into the same issues. Same drivers, same hardware, but now F@H won't use the GPU. This is even after attempting to manually add it and reinstalling the program

here's a dumb question some people get wrong when adding a GPU slot:

when you add the slot, do you click the little ball next to it? added pic below:

Are you certain that it's a problem with fah detecting the GPU?  GPU work is hard to come by these days, so it might just be that your client can't nab a work unit.  The log should tell you which it is.

Definitely check the dot.

And even if the GPU doesn't have a WU, it would still be listed

What I had to do was this on my Windows 10 with FAH client 7.6.9. It saw my i7-8700k fine, but wouldnt let me add my RTX 2080 Ti into a slot, but it saw it.

1. save the newest GPU text file https://apps.foldingathome.org/GPUs.txt

2. move it to %AppData%/FAHClient (C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\FAHClient) -- This is a hidden folder, and you might not be able to see it unless you enable "Show hidden files, folders and drives" which is under File -> Change Folder and Search Options -> radial button Show hidden files, folders and drives

3. Reboot the system

4. start the FAH client

5. Add the GPU in the next slot in the FAH advance control like in the screenshot above from @RollinLower Configure -> Slots tab -> Add -> GPU -> OK -> Save

OK so I tried updating the GPU list, didn't change anything.

I added my GPU and had it set to -1, 0, 1, and when I click Save, GPU doesn't come up.

I tried to do a screen recording, but for some reason, Windows doesn't have the built in capability? the Xbox program is worthless, only records the main window of F@H, nothing else...

Tried -1, didn't fly. And yes I updated the GPUs.txt file, and rebooted. I also attempted an uninstall/reinstall with no success

Right so I am having the exact same issue I think,

Can you edit the number of cores your CPU slot is using? As in go to the slot and edit it, if not I know the issues and can give you a work around.

If someone has helped you out on the forum don't forget to give them a reaction to say thank you!
