Hey guys right now i have a gtx 1660 and i5 9400f and they perform pretty well in games getting above 80fps on average in games at high quality 1080p, i was just wondering if i wanted to upgrade to 1440p and 144hz if i could just upgrade my gtx 1660 to a rtx 2070s and not be bottlenecked by the 9400f or if i need to upgrade both, appreciate any replies thanks

ah i was thinking about that but the more i researched the less appealing it was, mostly because of the heat and driver issues, i would have loved to get the same performance for less money but i didn't think it was worth the issues that came with it

As long as you get a good version i.e Gigabyte Gaming OC, MSI Gaming X, Powercolor Red Devil, Sapphire Nitro etc then you will be fine. They don't all run hot/loud.

As for driver issues pretty sure they have been mostly fixed with the latest update.

It isn't quite as fast as a 2070 Super, but you can usually save around £100/$100 depending on where you are buying from.
