What Is Your Gpu Upgrade Cycle?

Every couple years; 2 generations. I find my 560 ti a bit lackluster now, I'll probably get a 770 ;)

I usually upgrade when they are unable to play games at playable framerates.

I bought my 550 Ti mid last year, and I'm still able to play new games at high settings (maybe a few at med) @1080p with ~30 fps, I'm guessing I'll be upgrading sometime very late this year or next year some time.

Honestly I really like this method. Only think i would do would be to increase the cycle just a bit, for example, run one card for entire one generation, add second at the introduction of the second generation, and then finally upgrade to the newest generation after two have passed.

My cycle is pretty unstable. I had been using an old 6570 for longer than I'd have liked simply because I didn't have the money to put forward. In September of last year I upgraded to a 7750, however it started giving me issues (No OC other than factory) and I wanted something to play WATCH_DOGS later this year so I picked up a GTX 650 Ti Boost over the weekend. I'm hoping to upgrade only once every 1.5 years now that I finally have a GPU that can play some newer games.

i guess that really depends how your Monitor setup changes i played really long on a 4:3 19" because i think 1080p is just not high enough, i went straight to 1440p with a GTX580

 

 

Riva TNT -> Geforce 2 MX ->Gefore TI 4200 -> ATI 9700 Pro -> 8800GTX ->GTX460 than GTX580 with new Monitor, but i need moar power! 780 incomming :D

8600GTS > 3870 > 6870

 

So not that often at all, current card still pulls 60fps no problem so I'm in no rush, was going to pick up a 660ti Power Edition but i'll probably wait for the next gen now, and even then i won't get it til it's probably 6 months old  :P

Have too many other projects I want to do, so spending £200+ on a gpu is at the bottom of the list  :D

Usually every two upgrade cycles, for example I currently run a 6870 which I put in when it was basically new, It still plays all of my faviroute games at 1920x1080 max settings; Like F1 2012.
So im going to upgrade to either a 8970 whenever that rolls around, or a GTX 780 also whenever that turns up! No real need for great jumps in graphics horsepower at the moment sadly.. and nothings changing.

I will probably upgrade around the 800/9000 series cards. probably go for like an 870 or a 9970. It's so weird saying those names now but in a couple of years it will just roll off the tongue. :)

Until it can't run games at 1080p, medium-ish settings.  That means it's almost time to upgrade my 4 year old GTX 275...

I hated my old GTX 275.

I have a gtx 580 and i am going to upgrade this year, its just starting to drop off in terms of maxing out games, having to lower Aa and shadows etc, that 1.5gb of vram also is a pain!
