450$ with i5?

DoctorKira
Go to solution Solved by Kiwiandapple,

Finally someone optimistic with my build.. Thank you!

I was just being realistic. If we forget BF3/4 then hell yes that build will do just fine.

Hello peoples,

so I did a post back in December 2013 and it kinda got dead, noone replied to it other than 2 peeps. ( now I know that I need to quote)

So I came up with this build:

CPU: i5 4670k

MOBO: Asus B-85G LGA1150

RAM: 4GB Corsair Vengeance Black

WD Caviar Black 500GB

Corsair 200R Windowed( http://www.skytech.lt/cc9011041ww-corsair-computer-case-carbide-series-200r-windowed-compact-atx-case-p-166966.html , don't know about this one, is it fake? That it's windowed?)

Corsair CX430

This all makes 450$.

By my understanding, it's an upgradable build? I can add more RAM and a GPU later. Reason why I'm building a pc without a GPU is that I need a pc in a hurry, and I want it to be pretty powerful in the future. I heard that HD4600 are pretty decent, so I'd stick with them until a GTX660.

My questions are:

Will this pc be enough for my games( LoL, FTB(Minecraft), some BF3 or even BF4.

Is putting a GPU inside easy as unplugging your pc, opening it, putting it in, closing it, powering and that's it?

Boi, this is quite an essay.

Thank you.

I would get something like a FX 6300 instead for your budget. Also location? I would say just save up to 850$-1000$ then buy a much better build.

Well getting an unlocked processor is defeated by not getting a Z87 motherboard.

If you want to game right now just get a A10-7850K (If you live near a microcenter it be much better)

1. Just barely

2. Yes

Upgrade the PSU to 500w and change the 500GB Black to a 1TB Blue. There are also more things wrong with this build, but I'll let someone else take care of that.

You won't be able to play BF at a playable level I don't think.

You might as well get a non K cpu, that motherboard can't overclock. Or you could spend the extra $50 on a z87 board.

I would say go AMD with this cheap of a build because they tend to have better intergrated ghrapics especially with the Kavieri APU's

Current System: CPU - I5-6500 | Motherboard - ASRock H170M-ITX/ac | RAM - Mushkin Blackline 16GB DDR4 @ 2400mHz | GPU - EVGA 1060 3GB | Case - Fractal Design Nano S | Storage - 250GB 850 EVO, 3TB Barracuda | PSU - EVGA 450W 80+ Bronze | Display - AOC 22" 1080p IPS | Cooling - Phanteks PH-TC12DX_BK | Keyboard - Cooler Master QuickFire Rapid(MX Blues) | Mouse - Logitech G602 | Sound - Schiit Stack | Operating System - Windows 10

The OG System: I3-2370M @ 2.4 GHz, 750GB 5400 RPM HDD, 8GB RAM @1333Mhz, Lenovo Z580 Laptop (Ubuntu 16.04 LTS).

Peripherals: G602, AKG 240, Sennheiser HD 6XX, Audio-Technica 2500, Oneplus 5T, Odroid C2(NAS).

PSU which is extremely small for a high end GPU and ram

also you need Z87 to overclock

500w would be enough? Also if I overclock I need an aftermarket cooler so I will probably get 4670.

How much would it be for a i5 4670K, Z87 D3H, GTX 770, Hyper 212 Evo,  CX500, and Corsair 230T?

-K Chip, B85 motherboard

Shortcuts (NEVER a good idea with PC's)

An intel build making no sense in a small budget

The tiny amount of RAM

The fact that you wont be able to do anything with what you have planned

This will max BF3/4. Not sure about the server though.
