TL:DR at end

As odd as it sounds, my mother has asked me to build her a 'gaming' PC for around $500. What she means, is that she hasn't owned a desktop computer in two decades and she doesn't like the performance on any of the half dozen laptops she's been mother to since then. She basically wants something that she won't have to upgrade for at least a few years, but she'll be able to (or I'll be able to) instead of buying a whole new system like she's been doing with laptops for years now. She mostly plays older games on steam like The Elder Scrolls series, the Civilization series, and other bethesda games that were popular in the early 2000s. For fairly old games like these, I would feel just fine getting her an older integrated graphics system, but it's the way she talks about her plans once she gets the computer that worry me. Sure, an older system would be fine for playing her older games, but she says she wants to try out graphics overhaul mods for skyrim like she's seen on youtube, and she wants to try out Destiny 2 since that's basically all I play. This is where I start to think about bigger and better systems. The particular build I put together is here. Ignore the ram and PSU not being there, along with their prices, as they are parts that I already own and would be giving to her for free. All together, the rest of the system is around $500, and would do her well and hold up for pretty much everything she would want to play. The thing I'm worried about is whether this build is way overkill for what she has planned.

TL:DR my mom wants a 'gaming' pc for around $500 for playing tons of steam games and some modern first person shooters. She wants something that will play well and she won't have to upgrade for at least a few years (has to be able to respectably play anything that comes out during that time that she might want to play.) The build is a Ryzen 5 1600AF and 8gb RX-580. This build has heavy emphasis on gaming but will also be used as a general use system. As I see it, this is the best price to performance I can get for this price point. Is this overkill for what she has planned? Any suggestions that would fare better?

I think that build would fare very well with the games she wants to play, not overkill at all.
