Turn on your speakers or headphones.

 

The sound may be routed to the monitor (if it's hdmi) but your monitor may not have speakers or have them muted. Right click on the speaker icon, select Playback devices , select your speakers.

 

If still no luck, go to your motherboard manufacturer website, select your model, go to downloads and download the audio card drivers and install them.
