Are you running stock settings? I've got H115i Pro with my 3700X and I've got idle temps hanging around 40c and under load depending on the load 65-77c. I made a mistake in installing the fans the wrong way around at first and the temps were much higher so maybe it's worth checking out.

Just running it with PBO. Top fans are exhaust and i have bottom fans for intake.

I have my 3700x overclocked to 4.2ghz, and am using a Fractal s36 which is also a triple rad AiO, and right now at idle the temps are hovering around $35.

 

I just did 2 back to back Cinebench r20 tests to heat things up, and about 72c is the hottest I'm getting. So yours is probably as expected, your ambient temp (of the room) and air flow can influence things, also is there an overclock?

Another thing I want to note is it could be your cpu voltage that's causing the extra heat. Left to auto, Ryzen wants to run around 1.45 volts, 1.5 being the furthest you'd ever wanna go. With my overclock I have the voltage set to 1.33 or 1.35 (don't remember which) but that could be why my temps are a little under yours.

one thing I found is there's a bit of a sweet spot. Like, I could have my voltage set to a solid 1.3 or a little lower, and even though it shows I'm still hitting the 4.2ghz mark, my scores on things like cinebench r20 will be around 4400, but when I raised the voltage a bit more to around 1.35 I was still able to lower temps some and I hit a higher score around 4800, even around 4900.

Temps drop quickly when manually setting voltage to 1.35. For overclocking to 4.2 have you just set the voltage and changed each core to 4.2? Also when using PBO it says the peak voltage is 1.35 but goes over

the voltage will always go a small amount over whatever you set it to. I don't think I'm using PBO, I just have a manual override of 42 to the core ratio. That and the 1.35 volts

3rd gen Ryzen doesn't really OC well to begin with, nor does it yield much performance gained, fast RAM and adjusting PBO settings in Ryzen Master is best if you want to ‘OC’.

 

3rd gen Ryzen CPU's seem to show faster degradation symptoms if higher voltages are applied (something I recently learned). For long term 'safe' OC'ing voltages below 1.375V were considered to be fine. However, this rule of thumb is adopted from overclocking Intel CPU's, and previous generations of AMD CPU's.

 

So, for long term use I would NOT recommend OC'ing via the standard Manual method in Bios. Keeping the voltage low (1.27500V or lower w/ a manual offset if you want to play around more) and adjusting PBO settings is the safest way to squeeze out some extra performance. But even then, only expect 100-300MHz at most.

Those high temps are definitely because of the high voltages. 1.2V is safe. What motherboard do you have?

 

With my Asus Crosshair VII Hero by default my voltages were all over the place. 

I adjusted as follows:

-          CPU Core Voltage – Manaul Mode – 1.2500V
-          CPU SOC Voltage – Manual Mode – VDDSOC 1.1000V
-          DRAM Voltage – 1.3500V
-          1.8V PLL Voltage – 1.8000V
-          1.05V SB Voltage – 1.0500V
 

The best performance squeeze is your RAM, I set my Corsair Vengeance 32GB 3200MHz CL16 to 3400MHz at 1.3500V and tightened up my timings, that has given me the best performance results. I would start at your RAM’s rated speed and go from there.

I have an X570 Taichi. I can't change the voltage in ryzen master when using PBO. I found that setting an OC of 4100 and voltage at 3.2 has given me lower temps and better results. (Quick cinebench tests).

Are you using the Ryzen balanced power plan? I have a 3900x cooled by an H110i and at idle I run from 29-40c with an occasional spike. Voltage reads from .360-1.15 volts at idle. What I would suggest is to go to AMDs website and download the chipset drivers direct from them. Once installed you should get access to the Ryzen power plan.

What I would suggest is to go to AMDs website and download the chipset drivers direct from them. Once installed you should get access to the Ryzen power plan.

Idk why my 3700X is also having those temps even with custom loop even at 4.2GHz all cores with only 1.225v, and use balance power plan.

 

Tried to remounted the CPU block with as much mounting pressure as I can, nothing change.

 

It have reached 84C only at 1.224v with less than 90W full load while my GPU maxed at 69C/1.2v/218W in the same load operation in same loop.

 

There is far gap between the GPU vs CPU while the GPU draws more than twice the CPU power while maxing at 15C lower than CPU. Why like this?
