Need help with PSU

Go to solution Solved by MrBrightSyde,

The Core GM is Tier B+ on the PSU list so I would go with that.

Hi new guy here, recently i was searching for a new psu for my pc and i saw a Seasonic Core GM that caught my eye.

I know nothing about Seasonic (Until some time ago, i was just buying any psu that seamed good enough and cheap without researching) and i found no review for it, does anyone here have some experience with it?

Thank you very much!

Yeah, almost everyone says that for Seasonic on the internet, but almost no one talks about this particular model (Core GM)

Seems to likely be a lower end Focus. I would suggest looking at other options, as Seasonic outsources a bunch, cheaps out on the fan and protections, even on their highest end PSUs.

I don't have many options here (not from the US) so my options are very limited, the other brand is Thermaltake

i would not recommend you go with thermaltake. i've never heard of a good thing from them. if you can only go with two go with seasonic. if nothing else and it breaks, you got warranty for years. if you can, i would go for a corsair or evga. both are quality. i have the evga gold 750w something or other, and its nice

The only EVGA it's the N1 400W model that people seem to not like at all (and i don't know if 400W is enough to support my system), so i guess i'll go with the seasonic one.

Well, where are you buying from?

A store in my country, there aren't many that sell non generic psu.

The psu in my price range are the evga N1 that i mentioned above, a seasonic S12III (read bad things about that one) and the Seasonic Core GM, the thermaltake ones are more expensive and are 700W+ which i don't think i need.

Yes. Its in temporary position there if you noticed (italics) because the info on it's performance is limited but depending on the price it could be decent choice, certainly better than EVGA N1.

Yeah, i couldn't find much info online, i'm probably going to get it then, seeing that my current psu is tier E in that list,

Really? I don't see any italics on the Core Gold.

In any case, it's better than OP's current PSU apparently since his current is Tier E
