Windows Installation Blank - Can't install Windows

I was having some trouble with my PC for around 10 days (motherboard was getting shorted because I inserted a standoff in the wrong place). I wanted to do a fresh installation of Windows since my previous one was not booting (blank screen after Windows splash screen). I created a bootable USB using the MediaCreationTool and plugged it in. But after booting from USB the setup window was not showing up. All I could see was an blank purple screen with the  mouse cursor. I tried creating another bootable USB using Rufus on a different USB stick but still had the same issue. Both USBs work fine as installation media on other devices.

While I was trying to fix my motherboard issue I switched the PC on and off several times to check whether it was dead. Could this have somehow damaged it and caused this issue? I'm able to boot Ubuntu on my secondary drive so I'm having this issue only with Windows installation media.
