Hi people, I couldn't find my build log I posted a long time ago, so I am re-posting it!

So, the project was called "Oracle" because this build was my very first hand made PC that I was going to use for my third year final project.

Roughly, the research was to use SSD to overcome write issues in RAID 5 configuration. Therefore, I had to have a control, which was the traditional HDD in RAID 5.

Although I did not have enough time to test the speeds on Oracle (Database), I was able to do the preliminary tests on a benchmarking software. Argh, I had problems with parts delivery...

My build has changed a bit from when I did the project, so, I will post my current specs.

MB: ASUS Rampage IV Extreme
CPU: Intel Core i7-3960X
Thermal Compound: Arctic Silver 5
Cooler: Corsair H100
RAM: 2x 16GB G.Skill RipjawsZ
PSU: Corsair AX1200
GFX: 2x ASUS GeForce GTX 580 DirectCu II (1.56GB) SLI
Disks: Samsung 256GB 830 Series SSD (Boot), 3x Samsung 256GB 830 Series SSD (RAID0), Western Digital WD1002FAEX Caviar Black 1TB (Storage)
Monitor: ASUS VG278H
Case: Thermaltake Level 10 GT
OS: Windows 8 Pro 64-bit
Speaker: Logitech Z-906

I will include pictures later when I can figure out how to do the URL thinggy...

Edit: Added pictures.

Notes:

Hehehe the inside is a bit dusty but the red theme makes it look like an abandoned research lab operating on red backup lights.

Dropbox works well and you don't really have to upload to a site like flickr. You just dump your pictures in the public dropbox folder on your hdd, then right-click and copy public link. They will give you up to 5gb storage space for free.

I just hope you weren't thinking about posting 32mb pictures. I usually re-size mine with irfanview.

I don't really play many games for gameplay anymore honestly. I play most games just for the graphics.

Yeah those pictures are way too large they cause chrome to lag a bit while looking at them.

Nice build though, red fits so well in that case :). It needs some cleaning though .
