Motherboard: z-370-a pro

M.2: ADATA XPG Spectrix S40G

Been having some weird issues recently with my computer, I think it all started when I hit the auto overclock on my Radeon software and I wasn't watching the temps but I think think it overheated.  Nothing normal, I never had any luck with overclocking it manually before (Gigabyte 5700xt).  I usually leave it stock settings now.

This time the computer wouldn't load into windows for about 3 hours, tried everything short of a fresh install of Windows.

The M.2 slot in this motherboard is right above the PCI-E for the graphics card, would it have overheated the drive and caused issues? Backplate gets very hot under normal gaming load.

Since then, Windows file explorer has had issues, can't open hwmonitor, multiple programs are slow to open and now the power options have stopped working (cant shutdown the computer through Windows)

Should I cut loses and get a new M.2, reinstall Windows or could there be some other reason that I don't know about causing the issues?
