My current PC, which I bought years ago as a pre-built, is really outdated now and I'm looking to build a completely new rig. I've never built one before and only really have a basic understanding of the parts, I'm working on learning more but I'm looking to build soon so I'm needing advice.

My budget for this build is between £1500-1800 and I'm based in the UK. I'll be using the PC solely for gaming, current games that I'm looking to play are DOOM Eternal and Mount and Blade BannerLord and I'd be looking to play them on the best settings that I could.

I'll only be running the build on a single monitor for the time being. I won't be needing any peripherals at the moment as I'll upgrade the monitor further down the line.

I'm mostly looking to upgrade as multiple parts of my current build are really outdated and as we're in lockdown right now I've got plenty of time to build one I guess!

I made a build on PCPartPicker that's right at the end of my budget but I'd like advice on it to know if its good value or if its even a good build at all. Alternative builds are definitely welcome too!

The Meshify C is a good case, but it is a bit overpriced at £122.40. The Phanteks Enthoo Pro M TG is better value for £89.99.

That SSD is DRAM-less, something like the Crucial P1, 860 QVO, or HP 920/950 all are better options

If you look at the Kitguru review for both the WD Blue gets the better score. You also get a 5 year warranty with the SN550. And anyway the lack of dram doesn't really matter for a gaming pc. You have to do around 13GB of writes before it starts to slow down and even then it is still faster than a SATA SSD like the 860 QVO. Pretty much any NVMe SSD is going to be faster than a SATA SSD even a low end one.

The HP drives are good but they are not available. You are looking at £144 for the Adata SX8200 Pro if you want something better. It is well within the op's budget if he wants to pay the bit extra.
