X60 vs H100i

Go to solution Solved by michaelalfox,

The Kraken X60 is 280mm whereas the H100i is 240mm, so the comparison is a bit skewed. The larger your radiator, the more cooling power you'll get. Given this, the X60 will see better performance out of its 280mm radiator than the H100i gets from the 240mm radiator.

Corsair's H110 is a better comparison to the X60 since they both have 280mm radiators. As WoodenMarker said, the 240mm radiator size makes the H100i compatible with a lot more cases, so take that into consideration. Many people who buy 280mm radiators end up modifying their cases to fit them in.

The Kraken x60 is cooler at lower noise levels. Longer cables.

The h100i fits in more places and dare I say, looks better due to the lighting. Easier to find 120mm fans for.

if i can find the fans, and my case fits, I should get the X60?

Also, someone said the corsair software is better, is this true?

Depends on your preference. Either cooler should be plenty for cooling.

What CPU are running?

As for the software, Corair has what they call "Corsair Link." This is something they've been pushing across multiple product lines and is indicated by a lowercase "i" at the end of the product. A lot of people choose the H100i (240mm) over the H110 (280mm) because the software allows for better control over the fans and monitoring of parameters. Corair Link has also been added to their AXi power supply products and to select Corsair Dominator memory.

If you're big into overclocking and managing power performance, Corsair Link might be a tipping point for you, though, a lot of people seem to feel that it's a bit superficial in its current state.

I will be running a slightly overclocked 4770K so I don't really need the marginally colder X60. Besides, I wear headphones so the noise of running them a little faster won't really be a problem.
