Upgrading RAM/storage in my laptop

So I have an ASUS Zephyrus GA502. It has a 512gb SSD, as well as 16gb of DDR4 ram. I'm looking to upgrade my storage, as I'm nearly out of space. From what I've seen, there is room for an additional SSD in the laptop. I'm pretty new to the world of PC's, so I want to know what to look for when shopping for SSD's. 

Also, I'm curious to know if it's worth upgrading from 16gb of ram. I have the room for another stick of ram, but is it worth the added performance in this instance? I mostly use my laptop for gaming, as well as classwork.

Does dual channel work on a laptop? If it is , i think its worth it since it will speed up your laptop more. 

Im with the mentaility of "IF IM NOT SURE IF ITS ENOUGH COOLING, GO OVERKILL"
