Should I Upgrade?

Go to solution Solved by bmx6454,

i am running a 6600k with my 1070, and even with high oc its bottlenecking it, so i would say 3600 is probably a good choice to upgrade from the 6500.

Im a fairly good at deciding what in my rig needs an upgrade besides when it comes to CPUs(I'm a complete moron) so sorry if this feels like an obvious answer. I currently have a Intel i5 6500 running with no overclock(Im not confident enough to mess with it) and was considering upgrading to the Ryzen 5 3600 because I had this feeling that it was about time. If this helps, I mainly game and have a MSI 1070 8Gb graphics card. Would it be worth it for me? Thank you so much :)

3600 is probably the best choice you have right now, would definitely be a fair step up fro the 6500
