I haven't paid much attention to task manager's cpu frequency for a very long time, actually NEVER since 8.1.

 

My current i7 4960X is overclocked to 4.6Ghz and I can see CPU-Z posting 4599.8 ~ 4600.4, and I am quite confident it should be and is running at this state.

 

But the windows task manager is keep posting 4.54Ghz when its on load (eg video editing).

 

Wonder if there is something wrong with the system, or task manager just being dumb.

Welcome to windows 8 lol

I think it reads the bclk* multiplier,my bclk is weird going up and down to 99.x to 100.x in cpu-z with haswell i think its the shitty mobo.If you'r bclk is stable in cpu-z then windows bug lol,i know my board sucks tough.
