So I'm finally coming into a large sum of money for my production company and i want to upgrade our main workstation rigs, but I also want to be able to do some nice 1080p gaming on them as well...I don't know if a prefab or custom rig is the way to go, and my budget for three computers is $3000 for each one.

Where are you located?

What are the current workstations - configurations? Any parts that can be re-used?

What is the principal software used on them? What sort of work is done? What size of projects?

Do all three have to be game capable?

Is 10-bit color a requirements?

Peripherals? Monitors? O/S?

only one build, i'll get the same one for the other two.

located in NY, USA

current workstations are 6 year old computers we found

principle programs are Adobe CC, Davinci Resolve, and 3DS Max

All three don't have to be game capable

10 bit is not a  requirement though it's an option if it fits the budget

just the parts, don't worry about accessorys

If 10-bit color is wanted replace the two GTX 780 with a GTX 770 and a Quadro 4000. The gpu are not in SLI.

So are all the peripherals and software covered? If so, what do you already have? Which of them have to be gaming-capable?

What kind of projects are being worked on?
