My current specs:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600

GPU: Asus strix GTX 1060 6GB

RAM: 16 GB (8x2)

MB: MSI X470 Gaming Pro

PSU: Seasonic Focus 650 Gold

2TB HDD x1

1TB HDD x1

1TB SSD x1

Monitor: View Sonic XG2401 (144hz)

Oculus Rift VR Headset

I live in Japan so the price for pc parts are higher.

for example the 2060 super will cost me around $460+

my budget is around $450-$500.

should I save a bit and buy the 2060 super so I can upgrade something else like another ssd, or go for the 2070? or should I go for the AMD RX 5700XT?

I play a lot of FPS games like COD MW and Apex at 1080p on a 144hz monitor but the 1060 almost never reaches 144fps in game so I would like to be able the play games at 1080p 144hz on at least medium quality settings.

which would be the most valued option for me right now? (any other gpu recommendation is appreciated)

What are your RAM's speeds?

You could wait for a sale on the 2060S, and upgrade your RAM if they are slow. I think the difference between the 2060S and 2070 is marginal, and not worth the price difference.

if you can wait then its probably better to wait but you are going to have to wait until at least next year for the next series of GPUs to be released from AMD and NVidia. the "release" date some people have been talking about is only the announcement date that they are going to be making the GPUs and then its still months to a year or more before they actually hit the shelves, not to mention what is happening right now pushing everything back at lease 1 month.

Since you want to play at high fps, try upgrade your CPU to 3600/3600x since single core performance increase is pretty significant.

Hang on, I will see how many FPS my 2060S will produce in Apex. I don't normally play but I have it installed. Couple of minutes.

well that would be completely up to you. you are saying your budget is around $500 at the most which will put the 2070, 2070 super, and the 5700XT out of your range as they usually cost around the $500+ range. if you do want them and do not want to wait then look at these two links as they will help you decide on a GPU to buy.

Well I got around 140 fps and a kill from what I could see, so should be good I guess. My first and second rounds of Apex. This is a 2060 Super ROG Strix with a little OC running with Ryzen 5 3600x stock and 3200mhz memory.

Defaulted to everything on highest setting, I put it to borderless windowed mode because fullscreen didn't work.. I turned Vsync off though because I'm on 75Hz panel. After making that post I got ressed and ran around a bit more. 120-144 fps it went a bit up and down... Mostly high around 140-144.

Note that this was run with two monitors and 3 chrome tabs on the second monitor and a whole lot of background apps running.

thank you very much for the info, in linus video he said that 5700xt wins by default over the 2060 super. should I consider the 5700xt over the 2060s?

5700 series has a bit better performance yes but has been bothered by driver bugs and high temps I've heard. Maybe it's resolved now but I don't know for sure. It's a better card if AMD solved the problems once and for all.

that is a question I can not answer. its one only you can because it depends on what you like. the GPUs from NVidia are better for things like streaming and VR as where some AMD GPUs are better for gaming performance. however over the past month or so AMD has been having issues with their drivers. someone will say they are having an issue with them like screen flickering or not picture at all and someone saying in those comments that the issues have been fixed only to have someone make another thread with the same issue a few minutes or hours later. now I am not trying to scare you away from AMD but just do a little research on them.

and before you make a decision on which GPU to get. make sure you take your case specs into consideration. will the GPU you want physically fit inside of the case or not.
