Strange Red Dot Pattern on 75Hz Monitor

I’ve just bought a shinny new, 21:9 Samsung monitor (LS34J550WQUXEN). It has great specs, 1440p at 75Hz however when connecting over Display port and pushing it to 75Hz a strange red pattern appears in the left side of the screen. This pattern appears no matter which port I use, either of the 2 HDMI or thedisplay port. However when lowering the screen to 60hz no such problem pattern happens.

 

is there a magic setting I can change or is it more likely, faulty hardware ?

 

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700

GPU: ASUS 1660Ti

RAM: 16gb

Motherboard: B450 tomahawk.

You nailed it right there.

It seemingly can't handle 75hz

Try to change the resolution of the monitor. I got a problem when i switch my Screens to that should in theory be 144hz to 144hz it's starts spassing out with purple *noise* And blink off an on.

Most of the time your monitor gives you a mode in which it works best. If you overclock too much your screen could skip frames or other complications. Maybe try turn the refresh rate down a little and see what it does.
