I'd say most likely Opacity and Contrast.

Well I've never done it I only did something similar to my animated text on my start screen using just those two options. Sorry, if I knew exactly how I would.

 

You'll have to play around with it but if you have done it just have him copy your color correction settings. I do like it, unique design, better than having a actual face cam IMO.

Are you using it or is this from a random on youtube?

 

I can't do it I don't have face cam to try it with.

Never heard of him. I would say do something someone else isn't doing but just have your friend play with those settings or better yet google it how he does it.
