I'm using a 2700X, 1070, and have about 26GB of ram.

Recently during almost any game I get a massive spike in stuttering, and sometimes it'll freeze (only the game not even the PC) and come back a second later. This sometimes happens after 45minutes. Sometimes way past that (1-2 in).

Would this be CPU not being cool enough causing this? Currently it's happened in GTA, Minecraft, Mordhau, and a couple others, but recently I had no issues with Dark Souls, but now it'll get the stutters after 2 hours, and I've checked it's CPU usage and it's not maxing out, nor is it leaking memory, but it still has these issues.

I've checked potentially any programs that could cause this just by being open but other then having discord, spotify, and chrome open (1 tab at most) it still does it.

Would a BIOS upgrade potentially remedy this?

DL hardware monitor and see your temps when this happens.

Also what speed is your ram?

how many slots are filled?

are they different speeds?

3 slots out of what 4?

Maybe try taking out the third stick of ram and leaving it in dual channel. (check your MOBO manual if you need to for the correct slots)

Ryzen does require faster ram speeds that say equivalent intel solutions might be the solution?

Sorta confused what you mean by this? You mean that Ryzen needs higher ram speeds then Intel? And yes 3 out of 4 slots.

so basically having three slots filled can caue issues.

and yes ryzen does perform much better with faster ram speeds

you have 3 slots of 24GB ram which tells me the sticks are not identical as well... so yea this is your first trouble shooting step try using one stick and see if the problem persist.
