I just built my first PC with many thanks to the folks here at LTT for their great advice.   Now I need games...  (PS4 console gamer).

I have played basically all the games that came out on the PS4 in the following genres:

RPG (Final Fantasy games)

Open-World (Witcher 3, Far Cry, Horizon Zero Dawn)

Adventure (Tomb Raider, Uncharted)

Tactical Shooter (i.e. Division 1 & 2, Destiny)

Survival/Strategy (Stardew Valley)

The above are just example of games I have played using the PS4/PS3 consoles over the years.   What other type of games do you think I should look into for playing on my PC (I have a Ryzen 3600 and  2070 Super).

Thanks for any suggestions!

@NZgamer thanks for the advice.  I haven't setup an Epic Account yet, so now as good as any.  There are so many titles that go back for so many years that is it hard to figure out what I should play.

I will look into My Summer Car as it does sound interesting.

I was hoping for a good open world game like Witcher 3/Fallout/Horizon Zero Dawn to just roam around in discovering, battling, etc...  I believe that is really my favoirte genre right now.  Although I love a good RPG.

If u like survival games i would highly recommend Rust on steam

Thanks for the suggestion but the statement on the games page says "protect yourself from other players" means PvP and I am not a PvP player.   I play games to escape and relax.  PvP games generally frustrate me because I am so bad at them.   So it is best I stay away from any games with dedicated PvP.

If you dont want to play the same games on PC, I'd suggest looking at older titles. Since you said you liked RPG and open world, I'd suggest Skyrim. It's a game that everyone should definitely try out. Destiny 2 is an option too, since it's free now. Maybe Minecraft? Here's a couple of good games from my steam library.

  • Skyrim
  • Left 4 Dead 2
  • Portal 1 and 2
  • Borderlands 2 and 3
  • Dying Light
  • Fallout New Vegas or 4
  • Thief
  • Warframe
  • Just Cause 2, 3 or 4
  • Star Wars Knights of The Old Republic 1 and 2
  • Metal Gear Rising : Revengenace
  • Sniper Elite 2 and 3
  • Witcher 3
  • Battlefield 3, 4 and 5
  • Assassin's Creed series, any title before Origins
  • Far Cry series
  • Garry's Mod

I tried to list games that weren't PvP and had either RPG or Shooter elements.

Remember that these are games that I like and would suggest, so I recommend to take a look at some of the games that interest you, take a look at some gameplay footage and decide for yourself if you think it's worth picking up.

My stuff:

Headset : Beyerdynamics DT990 Pro 250Ω w/ AT2020USB+

Monitor : Acer XF240H @  144Hz

@underi Thanks for the reply.   I have actually played a lot of the games on your list (they had console ports)

Here are the games I did play:

  • Skyrim
  • Portal 2
  • Borderlands 2 and 3
  • Dying Light
  • Fallout New Vegas & 4
  • Warframe
  • Just Cause 3 (not a fan of the controls, so I didn't try 4)
  • Metal Gear Rising : Revengenace
  • Sniper Elite 2 and 3
  • Witcher 3
  • Battlefield 3, 4 -- gave up on PvP games
  • Assassin's Creed Black Flag (really like it)  Heard it was one of the better ones over the older versions
  • Far Cry series - Played a few of these versions

I have access to Star Wars KOTOR 1 and 2 and those I will play soon.   I will look into Gary's Mod as I don't really know much about it.

Thanks again for your reply.  Your list if full of really good games.  Unfortunately I played most of them because they had a console port.
