Hello everybody I just want to get you opinions and suggestions on this build. I'm trying to get into PC gaming as cheap as possible while having a clear upgrade path. Here is the build

CPU: AMD Athlon 3000G ($46)

Mobo: Asrock B450M Steel Legend ($78)

RAM: Team Group Dark za 3600mhz ($90)

Storage: 240GB Western Digital Green M.2 SATA ssd ($32)

PSU: Cooler Master MWE 450W 80+ White ($33)

Case: Cooler Master TD500 ($38)

Cost: $322 USD (including shipping)

Now to make a few things clear

1. The ram is 3600mhz because even 2666mhz is expensive and when I upgrade to Ryzen I won't have to upgrade the ram.

2. My choice of parts is such because I want to keep the cost of upgrades as low as possible. Now this does result in some short comings such as the power supply however 80+ PSUs are cheap in Malaysia, so PSU upgrades won't be too costly.

3. I live in Malaysia so there is a price gap between components here and say for example in America. Some products are not available here as well for that matter.

If you do have any suggestions please do tell me. My budget is about $300-$350 USD. You can use Lazada or shopee

PC: Ryzen 5 2600, 16GB 3200mhz RAM (8GBx2), Gigabyte B550M DS3H, GTX 1050 2GB, 650W Semi-Modular PSU80+ Gold

Phone: Poco F3 8GB + 256GB

Audio: Samson SR850s

Sound Card: SoundBlaster Play 4 USB sound card

IEM: planning to get the KBEAR KS2s
Please be patient with me, I'm fatally dumb and its honestly a miracle I've made it this far

There are a few models that you might find affordable, see if you can fit one into your budget

Cooler master masterwatt V2 (bronze or white)

Be quiet system power 9 (400w or up)

Corsair CV650, CX450, CX450M

You can check out our PSU tier list to see more units to compare

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

there are 80+ bronze power supplies that are just as bad, aim for a quality PSU

USD doesn't make any sense, you're buying from Malaysia.

The MWE Bronze 600W is tier B, so it's good.

Yeah but I don't know any of the prices in Malaysian markets so if I recommend a $50 PSU it could be super expensive for you. Products are almost always a different price in other countries.

True but no worries the cooler master PSU is exactly $50 USD and is within my budget

That's pretty good. In USD it's actually a lot more expensive, I wish the better MWE models were available at good prices.

I'll probably be wishing for the same as I upgrade the components.

BTW what do you think of the other components in the build list?

It's basic, but you picked a solid motherboard and good memory. If you wanted a guaranteed motherboard supporting 3rd gen ryzen, look for the Asrock B450M/AC or the MSI B450A-Pro MAX.

The Asrock is not available here and is the msi one supposed to be 2-DIMM slot cuz that's the only one I can find.

Not to mention I won't be going to 3rd gen ryzen immediately, I'll upgrade from the Athlon 3000G to the Ryzen 5 1600 AF and then I might upgrade the the mobo for 3rd gen Ryzen

Any of the MSI MAX motherboards are ready for third gen out of the box, but if you can only find one with 2 slots it's no good.

Oh well seeing as it's an Athlon I'm assuming most motherboards will support it

only motherboards that are compatible with 3rd gen Ryzen are compatible. It's not that the CPU is too hard to handle, just that it's new.
