Hello guys I'd like to have some opinions.

I currently have an i5-7500 with a msi b250m . I wanted to move to AMD and i was looking for a Ryzen 7 3700x which i think has good value for the price. I cant figure out which motherboard should i get though. Either a B450 or a x570. My current build has 3 years and i'd like to do 3 or 4 more with this new one even if it's just replacing parts.

I will keep:

- GTX 1060 6GB (I play games but i honestly dont care about high details and stuff, and end up putting all low since i play fps games)

- EVGA 600 W  80plus bronze PSU (please tell if you think i should change this too)

- 1TB Samsung 970Evo NVMe

- NZXT RL-KRX62-02 Kraken X62 liquid cooler

- NZXT h500 case

Currently the CPU goes for 315€ on Amazon. The goal would be to stay within the 500/550€ budget for:

- CPU

- Board

- RAM, because atm i have 2x8GB Corsair valueselect 2133MHz (and the CPU needs 3200MHz ones (?) )

First problem would be the board, i'm not sure if i really need an x570 instead of a b450. So far the only thing that came up to me is the PCIe 4 missing on the b450. I'm not sure i'd even need it but who knows.

The second issue would be the RAM, i just dont know what to get to stay within the price. Was looking on some g skill trident z 3200Mhz , 2x8GB currently 116€ on amazon and assuming i'll take these, it would be 116+315= 431€ so wouldnt leave much margin for the motherboard.

theres only a few reasons to get x570

- you need memory higher than 3600mhz

- you need gen 4 ssd's

-you need pcie gen 4

-you have the budget and want to future proof your system

otherwise a good b450 board is a much better choice for the price. ram you can get a set of 3000 mhz ram and just overclock it. the set im running was $70 (granted no rgb) but it runs at 3200 and i could push it higher if i wanted to. youll have to pay more if you wanted rgb

Hello,

For pure gaming, I'd recommend a 3600 instead as the performance are the same (more or less).

I added a PSU because you didn't mention exactly which one you have. If it's a good one, remove it and get a 3700x.

Thank you guys, i ended up getting the 3700x and i found an MSI B450 Tomahawk Max for 116€. For the RAM i went for Crucial Ballistix RGB, 3200 MHz that i found for 97€. Ended up paying 530€ for cpu ram and motherboard. Quite acceptable i believe.

As per the PSU i got an EVGA 600W 80plus bronze which i believe will serve me for 3/4 more years. Unless you advise otherwise :D
