I have a pretty powerful AMD based system. I would like to run a mac OS virtual machine within windows. I tried a tutorial for Mojave on AMD systems(Tutorial I followed: https://amd-vm.hackintosh-guides.ml/), which didn't end up installing. Does anyone know of another way to do it? (I've seen Anthony's video on a hackintosh using Manjaro Linux (If I remember correctly), But I would like to keep windows as my primary OS and also do not want to dual boot. Does anyone know if I can run mac OS purely as VM on an AMD based system? If so, How would I go about doing it?

 

Computer Specs: AMD Ryzen 7 3800X, Nvidia RTX 2060, 16GB RAM. I would like to give my VM a maximum of 8 gigs of RAM and upto 4 cores. 

 

I plan to run X-Code and get used to Mac OS before I buy a mac for college. Also preferably I'd like to get atleast 1 USB passthrough to the VM but I think that's generally there (Just mentioning cause I've read some random guides that recommends you get a separate USB card for the VM).

Hi @Samay While Intel is the preferred CPU for Hackintosh, there are a lot of people running OS X on the AMD platform. Some good sites for you are:

I am coming here for some assistance in a hackintosh build my sibling and I have. We have a working server running High Sierra with a PNY 1GB NVIDIA graphic card on the server and I personally have a XFX R9 290X 8GB graphic card that is not in use and is still functional. I asked my brother; the server admin to this build, to see if we can install the 290X card and he was all for it. We changed the Clover settings inside the OS to Inject AMD, full shut down, I swapped the card, the BIOS splash screen appears and... nothing displayed. He tried accessing it remotely and it wouldn't connect. Tried both the PNY and XFX card... same issue. We removed the XFX card and place the PNY one back and it booted with no issues and he was able to remote access it. We even changed the settings of Clover to RadeonDevice and still having the same issue. We tried all the steps posted on tonymacx86 and hackingtosher and still the same result. Right now I have the PNY card installed and the server works fine but we still can't figure out why isn't the XFX card would not load the OS? Is there a step missing or do I have to change the Clover settings before loading the SSD with the OS? Any tips, suggestions and whatever crazy ideas you have to try out would be appreciated.
