Hi,

I am building a new pc for the first time and I would love some feedback on better components or potential problems with the specs listed on the picture.

I already have 1440p monitor and a cooler master 500w powersupply, which I assume is fine(?).

I have looked at the RTX 2070 super as well, but after some research I assessed that the rx 5700 tx was better value-for-money.

I am mainly concerned about the powersupply, and whether some of my components might be too weak and thereby hindering the performance of the rest.

Thank you

you didn't share a specific PSU model so we don't know. Also, share a permalink instead of a screenshot.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

As Fasauceome said, need the specific PSU you're planning on using. Other than that, the build looks good. (though you're going to want to update the BIOS of that motherboard as soon as you get it so you can get maximum performance and stability from your system)

Alright, the link is there now. I am still uncertain of which psu I have, since I cant quite tell by looking at it through the glass panel on my case. It just says "cooler master 500w 80 plus".

I read about the BIOS update and I am not quite sure what that means. My friends told me that it is quite complicated, and I should avoid it if possible. Is that a possibility?

It's not complicated at all. You'll need to look up the specific instructions for your board, but usually it's as simple as copying the BIOS update file to a USB stick, selecting an option in the BIOS, and waiting for about 5 minutes. Also, you should never avoid a BIOS update unless it has a known problem, or you're in an area with sketchy power. (like if you're prone to blackouts or brownouts)

any of the 80+ units from masterwatt is not a good pairing for something like a 5700 XT.

pcpartpicker doesn't know it, but the MAX series from MSI is updated for use with Ryzen 3000. Any of the motherboards from MSI with MAX in the name will be guaranteed to work.

Alright thank you. Do you know if a cooler master 500w is enough for the specs I selected?

Okay thank you. Is there a PSU you could recommend? Im just looking for a cheap one that works with my specs, not anything overly powerful.

Should be fine.

Look at my system specs in my signature... That system (with peripherals and monitor) draws at most 460w from the wall when I overclock both the CPU and GPU to their maximum, and have them both running under maximum stress.

Rating doesn't mean anything. Even the cheapest, crappiest PSUs are compatible with your specs.

Don't pinch pennies on the power supply, it's critical.

-At this point, just check to make sure the B450 can come shipped with the updated BIOS to work with a Ryzen 3000 chip out of the box.  If not, you'll need a Ryzen 1000 or 2000 series CPU to boot into the BIOS and update it.

-I'd swap the 2.5" SSD for an NVME or any M.2 style SSD because they are just easier to work with, less cable management, and not much of a price bump in most cases.

-Don't skimp on your PSU, it's not a sexy purchase, but it's incredibly important.  PSU's don't like to run at peak output for extended periods of time, so finding one that has a good amount of headroom over your required power consumption is a good idea.  For example, if you're build needs 500 watts, try and find a 750 watt PSU.

Yup, but they're unlikely to have the latest BIOS update, so it's still good to update. (just don't need a second CPU to do it)
