Hello,

The below are my computer stats:

  • AMD Ryzen 7 3700X

  • ASUS AM4 TUF Gaming X570-Plus

  • Corsair LPX 32GB (2x16GB) 3200MHz C16 DDR4 DRAM Memory Kit, Black (CMK32GX4M2B3200C16)

  • ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 2080 Super Advanced Overclocked 8G GDDR6 HDMI DP 1.4 USB Type-C Gaming Graphics Card (ROG-STRIX-RTX-2080S-A8G)

  • SeaSonic Electronics FOCUS 850W 80 PLUS Gold ATX 12V Power Supply SESSR850FX

  • Windows 10 Home OEM 64 Bit DVD English Language | Full Product

  • Noctua NH-D15 SE-AM4, Premium Dual-Tower CPU Cooler for AMD AM4 (Brown)

  • Crucial MX500 1TB 3D NAND SATA 2.5 Inch Internal SSD - CT1000MX500SSD1(Z)

I had my computer built at the end of February.

I received the below error on 3/2/20. This occurred when my computer was idling in the World of Warcraft menu screen.

The description for Event ID 14 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

\Device\000001db

0cec(3098) 00000000 00000000

The message resource is present but the message was not found in the message table

Then, I received the below error on 3/20/20. This occurred when my computer was idling in the 7 Days to Die menu screen.

The description for Event ID 14 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

\Device\Video3

0cec(3098) 00000000 00000000

The message resource is present but the message was not found in the message table

After each error, my computer's cursor and the entire computer runs extremely slowly. It is difficult to even restart the computer due to how slow everything is. 7 days to die was running at around 2-3 FPS. My mouse cursor was stuttering and barely moving.

I have the most up to date GeForce driver 442.74 as of 3/19/20.

Per ASUS EZ Update it states "There is no need to update the environment" when I check for updates. So I assume I am up to date on my motherboard drivers, software, and BIOS.

Device Manager states that the best drivers for your device are already installed when I check for drivers for my AMD Ryzen 7 3700x.

I am also up to date my windows updates.

After the second Event ID 14 error, I changed my NVIDIA settings to "Prefer maximum performance" on Global Settings based on what I read online.

I do not have any issues while actually playing any game, and these errors only occurred while my computer was idling in the menu screens of games. I am not really sure where to go from here or what the issue is. It seems like it is a difficult issue to pin down since it is highly infrequent. Any assistance would be appreciated!

I have the exact same problem, with the ryzen 3700x cpu and rtx 2080ti. I did also change the NVIDIA settings to "Prefer maximum performance". Have you encountered the problem again?

Ever find a resolution to this?

I got a 2080super and getting the same error.

Ill have a few different video objects up like youtube and then streamlabs and the sound will continue but the video will freeze. Sometimes goes black and then comes back, sometimes I have to power cycle.

SO ANNOYing.

I would love it if someone resolved and has quick steps to do so.

TIA

never look in asus updater, it usually don't find the latest anyway.. look on the webpage and check if there is a newer bios.. and get the latest driver for the gpu.. also check if there is a bios for the gpu on the manufacturer site.
