ram issues corsair vengance rgb

hi guys following problem:

 

my friend has a ryzen 2700x, b450 tomahawk max, and corsair 3200 rgb sticks. 

if he starts the computer in bios it shows 8gb of ram.

 

in windows it shows 16gb but only 8 are useable. 

 

i brought my ripjaws 3200 2 8ghz and it worked in bios and windows.

 

now we reordered the ram, came today new corsair ram same issue.. can u help us?

Well looks again like a memory problem, Corsair is probably not on the QVL. Are they properly set in A1/B1 or A2/B2 ? I'm bad at troubleshooting ram though :P

If not thing are kinda grim... :/ but not all hope is lost

so just reset motherboard to default settings (the option is available on the exit tab) close the computer put  only one ram stick on the DIMMA2 slot (so as you see the motherboard from above if the CPU is up( or closer to your forehead than to your chin ) it should be the second slot when you start counting from left to right .

 

boot the PC 

Then shut it down

 

Add the 2nd stick to position DIMMB2 (with the same orientation it should be the 4th slot)  double check the picture to be sure.

 

boot the PC 

 

Did it work?

 

If not then restart get into bios and set the memory timing exactly as the ones of one of the kits supported by the list I gave you above good luck.
