Audio manipulator software

Imago

I hope someone knows a software that allows me to cut, move and stretch chunks of audio files.
I tried with Audacity, I can cut and move parts of the audio file but I cant "stretch" or "compress" those parts. Basically I need to syncronize two speeches that has different tones and pace, cutting and moving parts of them. I don't need super-precision, just same word at same lenght and same time.

Someone can help me?

My rig:

You can do it in Audacity with some VST or with any DAC (probably with external VST too). Depends what do you want to do. If you want to keep vocal pitch and only stretch speed, then you need to find some plugin (or use Sound Forge - it has tempo change). If you want to change both - speed and pitch - all you need is set different frequency and resample.

Everything is possible if you know program. Don't expect to do everything in one click.

Thanks for the answer!

I already tried in Audacity but as I said, I can cut and move around the chunks but I cant "resize" them as I need. I don't need to keep pitch or tempo, I just need the speech to have about same lenght, high precision isn't a must.
Do you know where to find those VST for Audacity? I could give it a second try.

If you change frequency without resampling and then resample it back to 44100 (or whatever original frequency was) you'll get what you need. Pitch will change with duration.

If you need more complex plugins, try to find "time stretch vst plugin" on google. Remember that this is not the same as one click tools for photos that adds you funny hat or beard. This is audio processing, so no matter what, you'll need to spend some time to do that if you have no experience.

You may try this one.

Thanks for the link.

It's useful but not exactly what I needed... 😭

I was looking for a "realtime stretching", like you do in Vegas where you can grab the end of the clip and you can "stretch" it along the timeline, move and cut... But I guess it  doesn't exists for audio manipulator. 😩

However thanks for your answers!
