with the new developments in the whole corona virus situation i have decided to go ahead and start looking at  purchasing  a gaming steering wheel for my xbox and pc to use over my time off of school. it would have to be able to work on both my Xbox and pc as i would like to switch back and forth on both system because i have multiple games on both. i am looking for it to be within the range of 100 dollars and it would have to have a set of peddles as well. it would be great if it would have a shifter but i understand if there are none in my price range .

there are multiple system to work with, and that is the important part.

Bungee

Gear

Belt

DD (direct drive)

you can use a large amount of money on this, personally i run a Belt driven Fanatec CS 2.5 base, and looking for a Direct drive update..

i would se if i could afford a Belt driven wheel. Bungee is the cheapest and keep away from that.. personally i don´t like gear driven wheels like the G920 or most of the higher end logitechs, the have a mechanical deadzone, and they are really noisy..

the cheapest belt driven, is the Trustmaster T150 as i can see it, for your budget, i would look for a marked down version of this.. it is an okayish starter wheel.

but your budget is really tight.

I simply personally never got into racing sims, and i did not understand why, until i bought a full blown racing setup with a proper Racing seat (Rseat N1) Full Fanatec setup (Clubsport base, pedals and gearbox) that was the first time i felt like driving, compared to the multple times i bought and returned the Logitech expensive racing wheel. the G27 which is the same as the G29..

but the problem is for me, that i am hooked, and i will be buying a DD2 wheel base.

would not buy a G920 G27

but all Trustmaster products are according to website compatible with xbox... but if you have more money, then look upwards in the Trustmaster product stack, instead of looking at Logitech, i still feel belt driven is WAY better than gears.

then look fanatec CSL elite sets... if you move much up..

the Chinese DD wheels also seems to be really good.. and not so pricey, but again you are moving into expensive areas...

there also seems to be many that exchange Clubsport sets for DD drive sets, i don´t know if you could pick one up used, but we might be moving in another pricerange..

also look at online reviews... and look at sim racers, because many reviews have not tried other wheels..

the fun thing is that the wheel is not the important part, it means a lot for feel, but the pedals are IMPORTANT, and both logitech and trustmaster does not deliver on the pedal front.. (again it works)
