Need help upgrading

Hello I have recently been trying to make a decision on what to upgrade as my birthday is coming up within the next week. I am not sure if I would like to upgrade to a better monitor or to upgrade my cpu as it is bottlenecking my gpu, 144hz gaming is very tempting but one way or another I will need to upgrade my cpu eventually

 

Here are my specs:

 

GPU: RTX 2060

 

CPU: Intel Core i5 6402P

 

16 GB 3200 MHz ram

 

Samsung c24f390 60hz 4ms

Probably around $300-$350 depending on if I save a little

You should find a used i7 6700 or 7700. They should be around $150-200. That will love you budget for a 144hz screen

Does that use the same socket as the i5-6402p? Because if so I think this is and amazing suggestion.

It's a MSI B150M Bazooka Plus. Also do you think it would be a better investment to switch to an amd cpu/motherboard?

so a ryzen 5 3600 + a msi b450m pro-vdh max motherboard will cost $255

from a quick ebay search, a i7-7700 is $280

so yes, I think a switch to ryzen will be better

you already have good ram, you don't need to change that.
