normal ram on server board

yes, most can.

big server provider like dell & hp usually have a whitelist for what memory you can use.

that's why you can't use third party modules on their board, ecc or not.

NOrmally udimms will work on servers, but rdimms won't work on desktop platforms.

its a x99 board with udimms

then thats a desktop board, and desktop ram so it will work fine.
