Assuming it was working before that tells us it's not a Router/ISP issue. That's half the battle.

What server/services?

Are you certain the service is running?

Have you checked the Windows Firewall? Enabling Network Discovery may be necessary.

Windows has always kind of sucked for hosting network services. Did you check that Network Discovery in enabled? I know on fresh installs Windows has a tendency to not even let you ping new clients let-alone host a server.

If you picked Swedish I expect you can read it.

If it's not enabled the fastest method is This PC -> Network -> Right-click the pop-up -> Turn on network discovery and file sharing.

enable-network-discovery(edited).png.be37d7be6716b8f16c99250632075b3c.png

This is assuming the computer is setup on a private network. If you set it up on a public network plan then the firewall will be locked down even more.

Correct path but not correct sub-menu.

"Natverk" as it seems to be spelt on your window (bottom left in the column).

Are you connecting using the Public IP or Private? Have you verified that the IP of the computer hasn't changed?

So...

  • Windows Firewall is disabled.
  • Network Discovery is enabled.
  • It's a Private Network.
  • IP addresses are correct.

I'm pretty out of ideas. If it worked before I don't think troubleshooting your network in the answer. Not sure where to go from here. Sorry.

I forgot 3rd party antivirus can block network connections as Windows Firewall does.

Will have to remember that for the future. Glad you figured it out.
