1700x VS 3600x

Hi guys it's not Austin.

I'm thinking of switching from a 1700x to a 3600x. It's that a good move, I intent to stream and game. Just not sure if the improved clock speed and IPC make up for the cores

You could also compare the stream quality to hardware encoding from the GPU, then the increased single threaded performance is the whole exchange.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Well even the 1700x streams better than my 1070 does. But I'm just getting early ryzen problems in game, microstutter and what have you.

2700x would be a better option but thats marginal, if you are streaming the extra cores help

I thought I saw the 3rd series a bit of a boost to the IPC actually making a 3600x a better gamer than the 2700x. Just not sure about the stream quality with the fewer cores

If your running something that is 4/8 thread or less it shouldn't effect streaming you will probably get better performance.  If your using ALL the threads you make drop a % or so on either the stream or game.  Or you may need to manually assign threads to get the best performance.  Your 33% higher threads but less than 10% difference in multi-core performance.  The 3600x would come on top if it is heavy on AVX even.
