pc won't start

Hello guys,

 

A friend of mine tried to clean his pc but then he decided he'll do just the gpu( with a fine brush) , also he messed a bit around the cpu, but then he decided he won't touch it ( just removed the cpu fan cable ), the thing is the pc starts for like 2-3 seconds and after that it shuts down ( doesn't even appear the imagine on the display with the motherboard ).

So, he removed the gpu, cooler and cpu and put them back together ( replaced paste as well on the cpu) in order not to miss something. 

 

What he tried to do so far:

 

Removed and put back in the mentioned components. 

Ram checked and tried port 1-3 instead of 2-4 

checked most of the cables,  and he said he checked all the things that he put his hands on.

 

What do you suggest he tries?

 

 

edit : He called someone and fixed his pc. Seemed that one ram wasn't placed properly and gpu wasn't given proper current.

Try every ram stick individually in each DIMM slot, Ram can be a real dodgy bastard sometimes, Try resetting the CMOS alao and the most obvious suggestion make sure everything is plugged in tightly.

Thanks for the advice, he had someone fix it for him

as he fiddled with the brush he pushed the ram out a little bit by pushing the knob that holds it in place I guess..

 

next time use an air can to clean your pc much safer.

Gotta be careful with compressed air too, it can sometimes damage the fans.

just hold your fans in place when using a blower or compressed air, it's still safer to use than a brush. Knocking a surface mounted component would suck
