Is the GTX 1660 worth the price?

CreativeName642

I was thinking about getting a 1660 or 1660 Super but I was wondering if I should just save up and get a 2060 or 2060 Super

Here's my current build:
Ryzen 5 3600

G.Skill Ripjaws 16gB 3600

RX 580

MSI Tomahawk B450

I'm playing mostly CSGO, Destiny 2, and Borderlands 3 at 1080p whatever settings the card can handle

The 1660 super is usually only $30 or so more than the 1660, and performs very similarly to the 1660 ti. Probably the best bang for buck card in nvidia's lineup right now.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Man you have a 580, that's plenty for today. Wait until the midrange card of next gen. 1660 is only 17.5% faster than 580 in techpowerup's testsuite and even 1660 Super is only 35% faster. 2060 Super would get you about 77% more performance and 2070 Super would more than double it. I'd wait until that kind of bump in performance was within what you're willing to spend. And I also wouldn't buy Navi until Navi 2 with hardware RT comes out. Also anything less than 2070 Super and you're very likely to be significantly below the performance of the XBox Series X gpu.
