Need a Lightweight OS

So i want to setup my old PC

 

The specs are

 

CPU: Pentium 4 3.2ghz

RAM: 1GB 

PSU: HP 320watt

GPU: Geforce GT210

HDD: WB Blue 320GB

 

I want to use it strictly for downloads and as s small media server because my Personal PC is full and need to buy new HDD's in the near future but i still want to boot up the old pc so i'm looking for a light OS that'll work fine on the specs given.

CPU: i5 4670k @4.1ghz | GPU: Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1060 G1 Gaming 6GB | MB: Gigabyte Z97P-D3H | RAM: 4x4GB Generic | SSD: Gigabyte 240GB

LUbuntu, maybe see about 2 gigs of ram though

I can get another stick but i'm flat broke for now so 1GB will have to do for a while.

puppy linux maybe? juat saw 128mb minimum ram. heard was small but never tried myself

main rig:

CPU: 8086k @ 4.00ghz-4.3 boost

PSU: 750 watt psu gold (Corsair rm750)

gpu:axle p106-100 6gbz msi p104-100 @ 1887+150mhz oc gpu clock, 10,012 memory clock*2(sli?) on prime w coffee lake igpu

Mobo: Z390 taichi ultimate

Ram: 2x8gb corsair vengence lpx @3000mhz speed

case: focus G black

OS: ubuntu 16.04.6, and umix 20.04

Cooler: mugen 5 rev b,

Storage: 860 evo 1tb/ 120 gb corsair force nvme 500

8gb ram celeron laptop/860 evo 500gb

galliumOS works great, though check for compatibility

 

it's made for chromeOS devices and it's based off xubuntu, so you'd expect it to work well for low spec stuff

I love Bodhi Linux on low-end machines.  Give it a try.  You get a modern full featured desktop (Moksha) without any compromise.  It is also Ubuntu-based so you will have plenty of additional packages available if you need them.  I'm pretty happy with it out of the box however.
