I want to build a mid range pc for gaming at 1080p, for about the $900AUD mark. This is still a rough draft but will give an idea of the sort of system I want to build.

Just before I start, I want to point out that I don't necessarily need to be playing on Ultra graphics settings, as this is an upgrade from my Acer Travelmate that I have for school. I also wont primarily be playing incredibly demanding games, and although I love a good RPG I primarily play strategy games, (CIV, Total War, anything by paradox interactive).

Any advice on potential problems I may find or better parts I could use for a similar price would be greatly appreciated.

Most of these parts are from a local computer store, called Scorptec. It doesn't have a huge catalogue, but It does have some competitive prices, especially for Australia.

CPU. Ryzen 5 2600. $200

SSD: Kingston A400 240gb. $52

HDD: My dad has a spare 1 TB hard drive that I can use, not sure what it's called. $0

Case: Silverstone Precision PS15 Black Micro ATX case.

RAM: Klevv BOLT X gaming 2x8GB 3200MHz $108

Motherboard**:** MSI A320M-A PRO MAX $95

GPU: Gigabyte Radeon RX 590 GAMING, 8GB $295 (On sale, only $5 more than the rx 580)

PSU: Corsair CV550 550W Bronze Power Supply

Again, any problems that I may have with the system, along with any improvements it could have would be greatly appreciated.

I've looked at some comparisons between the 1660 and the rx 590, they seem to be, at least, fps wise, very similar. I'm just wondering what makes you say that the 1660 is better, does it run cooler, or consume more power? I'm just wondering what you think makes it worth the $40 price difference over the rx 590?

Cooler, less power, about 5% better in fps and nvidia drivers are more stable.
