Looking for a copy of Windows XP

jamesrauser

I recently acquired in old XP machine from my job that didn't work. I discovered the psu went and in the process nuked the hdd. I was wondering if anyone had the install media for xp. Its only the media I need since on the case is the key. If nothing else if someone knows of an os that a Pentium 4 @2.66 GHz and 1256MB of ram can handle that would be great.

Archive.org is a great source - if you've got the key it's not considered piracy. The key means at some point you bought a license (or it came with your PC).

XP works differently than later versions of Windows. If it's a machine that had volume licensing, you'll need need the corresponding disc image that accepts that volume license.

You're unlikely to find that, unfortunately. Probably better off just using a more modern Linux distribution for low spec hardware.
