Hi I'm Si ( Simon) from UK , enjoying the youtube vids you do thanks

I would like to ask some advice please

I'm about to splash out and get a new custom " games pc" with " windows 10"  built , willing to spend about £1500 uk pounds  (1950.00 dollas approx )

I like playing fast moving online games, i also like skyrim  and blizzard games , currently play wow classic and Hearthstone quiet a bit and impatiently waiting for blizzard to bring out a new mmorpg

and of course i want my new machine to be able to play it and be super fast to keep up ,

obviously new technology moves so fast being released, which bl**dy annoys me , u buy one bit of kit , only for it to be out of date a few months later

I would like

windows 10

GRAPHICS CARDS

Ive always had Nvidia graphics cards , but is Radeon really any better for gaming than Nvidia  ? What do you recommend ?

CHIPS

been looking at i9 chip sets,  but i know i7 would be just fine,  but i want this machine to be fast and last me quite awhile , so i cant bring myself to buy a i7 that's already been out for years

Is the baby i9 chip really that much better than say a middle to top i7 chip for the money ?

now that the top i7;s have come down in price , should i just get a top i7 and spend the extra on a better graphics card or RAM instead ? whats your views

RAM

well i would like 32 RAM , if i can afford it within my budget  ?

SSD

one small for windows operating only

another larger for storage (maybe 1T or 500 and have an external drive for films and music , which i have a lot of, ( Im big into music and films )

SOUND

Have 5.1 creative surround sound

COOLING

I don't know why but ive always had a heat problem with my machines ,

My current machine i have right now , has radiator , 2 fans and its  still constantly running between 26 and 30 degrees , if it gets to 35 degrees plus ,  it usually just says ive had enough and shuts down ,

ok so its 7 / 8 years old now , so now its about time i brought a new one  ,

FLASHING LIGHTS

I know a lot of u like your flashy case / fan lights  well not me , I cant think of anything more annoying when your sitting in the dark watching a awesome movie ,

all i need is a " little"  indicator to let me know the pc is on , and maybe a heat display and that's it,  No fair ground lights for me thanks

so how do i build a good games pc that lasts , as well as  gives me time to save up for the next ?

And for the £1500 what would you recommend in component parts for a full new build from scratch ?

Also i am planning on wanting to buy a large 42" monitor (approx size ) too  i have about another £900 pounds  ( 1170 dollas approx ) on top of the £1500  ( so £2400 to spend in total ) 3115.00 dollas approx)

i been looking around but not many companies do the larger monitors , so where is the place to go to get one ?

what do u recommend ?

Also these new curved monitors , are they still good for watching movies on as well as gaming  ?  with now the half size screens on movies , i want a monitor that dose not show the top and bottom bars of the movie

i just want to see just the film on the the whole screen,  is there a way of getting around this ?

so come on wizz kids what do i go for ?

Cheers for any advice in advance :)

Im still not sure about this curved screen , and 35" was  hopping for something a bit bigger

quote or mention me when replying, so I get a notification.

it seems they don't make screens that large. anything bigger is classed as a tv, not a monitor. why do you want such a big screen?

simple movies

I have seen bigger monitors , but they seem to be loads of money , a friend of mine has a 42 inch but yes it is a tv , but gaming and films on it it looks really good

but in uk if u have a tv and watch live tv on it , u have to pay a tv licence ( £150 a year ) and i dont watch tv , and i refuse to pay BBC 150 quid , BBC harass , and bombard u with letters , ive had enough of them , telling me i have to give them money or else ,  ive told them enough times , im not going to keep telling them so i throw all letters in the bin and ignore them lol .. but i dont want bbc turning up on my door or seeing i have a tv

by having a monitor , personalty think it makes me safer than having to deal with that hassle

i love films , i love watching them on a big screen ,

and like probably most of you sit at a desk , with bad backs , as where i dont , i hand built a shelving unit , run extra long cables , and enjoy my gaming and films from my sofa haha

so much more comfy than sitting at a desk haha

saw it as well but it's ultra-ultra wide. not sure you want that or if you can take advantage of it.

sorry this is all new to me , im learning , i only understand HDMI  ,

DVI is the same quality as HDMI but without sound correct ?

but DVI is better for larger screens correct ?

So if you use DVI for picture quality , so would you need to connect a HDMI also for sound also still ?
