Hi everyone,

So i just have a quick question. I have accidentally bought two different frequency of ram. The one i just installed is 2x8gb 2666mhz and the already installed one is 2x8gb 3000mhz. Both are corsair vengeance rgb pro.

I play lots of flight sims and recently i have found that when playing my flight sims and watching a movie from disney+/netflix my whole pc will freeze and i am forced to restart my pc.

Would having two different types of frequencies cause this issue or would it be something else like GPU because my gpu is around 4 years old?

Thanks in advance. :)

So if the system is currently running with all 4 sticks, then all the memory will be clocked at 2666Mhz if you have XMP enabled.

Can you provide all of your system specs.

The Ram at different speeds shouldn't cause something like that, the motherboard automatically sets them to the lowest frequency ram stick (in this case 2666mhz)

If you could, I would return the slower kit and get the 3000mhz kit so you can run your memory at full 3000 mhz

A full list of specs would be much appreciated so I can fully help you.

So yeah, you should have all 4 of your sticks running @2666mhz.

You may want to look at windows event viewer at the Application and system events to see what happens when it crashes.

You may get an hint of why there.

Thank you for your response. It was very helpful. I have found that when my PC freezes this event ID is created(10111). I'm not sure but i think that it is a graphics driver issue which would explain it. I am going to reinstall the drivers and test to see if it fixes my issue.
